FREEEEEEEEEEZE....


No more interviewing in Wake Countyfor a while :( Wake County just went on their "yearly" hiring freeze, seems like da ja vu of this time last year for me. Pretty sad for us new teachers here in Raleigh looking for teaching jobs.





I was thinking yesterday about my previous interview I had last week and wondering what it would be like to actually interview for any kind of other job? Really all I have experienced is teaching interviews over and over again. Its pretty ritual by now, "I love children, have a passion for children, and have always wanted to work with children ever since I was a little girl + a little bubbly personality and smiles" usually does the trick, if not, heck, apparently wasn't meant to be! Anyways last night I have NO CLUE why I was thinking about this when I was going to bed (such a ridiculous thing to think about before going to bed, however my mind is always in curious GEORGE mode...) but I was wondering what it was like in an interview for say a Dentist position or Hygenist position...





I mean, I know they don't go in there and say, "Oh yeah I have always had a passion for teeth, always wanted to work with teeth and help them grow strong and healthy." Seriously what is an interview like for those type of jobs??

Back to my FREEEEEEEEEZE update I have decided to take a HIATUS from teaching! During my HIATUS I'm going to Graduate school for Elementary Education with a focus in Reading at NCSTATE! Looks like the only "non wolfpacker" of the fam is about to truly be part of the pack! I literally never thought that graduate school was for me, or that I even had the motivation to go back to school, guess I have grown up and had quite the change of perspective. This economy sucks lets just get down to how we really all feel about it... but sometimes we've all gotta get a little "positive patty" in us and think about the good. In my case, I am thankful that it has pushed me to further pursue my education and not settle for a job that I would be unhappy at AKA preeeeeeeeeeeschool. I sware the next dirty diaper I'll change is my NIECE or NEPHEWS.... you guys hear that?!





So today I am thankful for: The hiring freeze, NCSU, and only 6 more weeks of dirty diapers :)

Me: Girl, your crazy I dont have a boyfriend?!

"Yets you do Mits Todd cus you got dat ring on................ (10 second pause and staring at me)..... and you gots a baby too"

apparently............ this means you've got a boyfriend and a baby... interesting huh?!

I WILL write a book one day on the "funny things kids say".....

The Teachers Salary Smoothie

You just got home from a run, a sauna visit, and its a quarter to 12... what do you want?!

How's that song go.... "Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the others gold, make new friends, but keep the ollllllld one is silver and the others GOLD! - clearly that is all I can remember. I should have stayed a girlscout for one more year.

A great friend of mine from ECU, Kyle is moving to Indianapolis for a job promotion he got not long ago... He will be part of the start up team there, and while I am so sad to see him leave, I am so excited for him to begin this new chapter in his life! New city, and new friends aka (the silver ones in my girlscout song.)

In celebration of his job and to say goodbye we had a party for him and invited lots of friends over! Caroline, Wes, and I helped plan the shin dig and it was complete with ECU cornhole (in the garage... stupid cold) our "We'll miss you like a fat kid misses cake," a banner I made with supplies from work, a mini keg, and of course and awesome, tear jerker, gangster playing, hilarious slide show made by Caroline!! It completed the evening :)

WE WILL MISS YOU KYLEEEEEEEE!!!!

My best friend said YES

Secrets secrets are no fun unless you share with EVERONE............

I had to keep the biggest secret of my life ever a few weeks ago (yes, fellow follower, i'm a tad bit late) Andrea Melanie and I went to my family's beach house in Sunset for a weekend to just get together, catch up, have wine, relax, and just be silly together! Mel and I promised Mason we wouldn't spill the beans and tell Andrea that he was going to propose the VERY NEXT weekend. It was quite difficult for me but I did it, guess i'll give my self a pat on the back for that one, Mase I know your proud! Here are a few pics from our 3blind mice weekend... which we have just made as not only an anual thing but a bi-anual event that will last forever and I'm sure will eventually include all of our other halves (thats the plan right God?! ha!)

And Finally I could open my mouth......... February 26th is when he popped the question and I suprised her in Columbia with family and friends to celebrate with very sweet toasts, cake, champagne, and of course tears (from me, go figure.... ) It was a BLAST and still so crazy and weird that My best friend is engaged and going through all the fun planning festivities.....

The funny thing about it is that when us three were in highschool we ALWAYS talked about how when we got "older" that:

A: "our husbands better love each other, because they will be seeing a lot of one another"

B: "Andrea would be first to get married, I would be second, and Melanie would be third" (so far the plan is right on track hahaha) Of course Mel's prediction was a little altered ;)
It is so funny to think back to those conversations and just laugh (ecspecially at letter B)

And the wedding planning begins.... CHEERS to the soon to be Mason and Andrea Snyder!!!!!!!

those pretty white things in your mouth

I KNOW MY TEETH ARE SMALL... If I didn't know any better I'd think that I havent lost my baby teeth yet, however I am 24 and positive that these are my adult teeth. A few days ago my roomate Caroline claims that my teeth are as small as her families Lab, "Gracie"...
